Premiere of The Companions: A musical full of emotions in Neuburg!

On Friday evening, the musical “The Companions” celebrated its premiere in the sold-out Neuburg City Theater. The emotional performance caused emotional reactions in the audience. The piece, which was created in collaboration with students Ulrike Hofbeck and Pauline Georgiev, tells the touching story of the protagonist Lif, in whose life loss and hope are central. KU reports that the text book was mainly written by the student teacher Pauline Georgiev, while the songs were composed by Andreas Kehr.

The director was Philipp Tjomas and Leon Glaube, both students with theater experience at the KU. They were supported in the choreography by Jana König and Christina Gscheidl, who work at the KU sports center. The sets and costumes were also created by the students themselves.

Content and themes of the musical

The plot revolves around Lif, portrayed as a child by Lena Kutschera and as an adult by Pauline Georgiev. After losing her parents in a conflict over a magical land, she is raised by her grandmother Johanna Benecke, who teaches her to communicate with nature. Her friend Fin (Máté Pócsi as a child, Lukas Schiessl as an adult) finds security with Lif and her grandmother while he suffers from his father's violent behavior.

After her grandmother's death, Lif embarks on a journey to her roots, marked by encounters with light and shadow. On her way she meets Silas (Luis de Jesus Marques), who gives her hope and confronts her with old conflicts, including the return of a childhood friend. The musical focuses on the beautiful and challenging sides of life.

Performances and charity event

The musical will be performed on several dates: a total of three performances are planned for the weekend, which will continue next week. Performances take place on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. All tickets for the remaining performances have already been taken, but a box office will be offered. Neuburg Donau informed about the fact that admission is free, but donations are requested at the end of the performances. The proceeds benefit the Elisa e.V. family aftercare association in Neuburg and the Caritas Children's Village Marienstein near Eichstätt.

Additionally, support in the form of sponsorship and help in the organizational team is requested. Anyone interested can contact the composer Andreas Kehr. All relevant information about the performances, ticket reservations and transport connections can be found on the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt website.
