On Friday evening, the musical “Die Wälts” celebrated its premiere in the sold -out city theater in Neuburg. The emotional performance ensured moving reactions in the audience. The piece, which was created in cooperation with the students Ulrike Hofbeck and Pauline Georgiev, tells the touching story of the protagonist Lif, in whose life loss and hope are central. KU reports that the text book was mainly written by the teacher student Pauliev, while the songs by Andreas Kehr composed were.
The direction directed Philipp Tjomas and Leon Faith, both students with theater experience on the KU. They were supported in the choreography by Jana König and Christina Gscheidl, who are active at the KU sports center. The stage sets and costumes were also created by the students themselves.

The plot revolves around Lif, represented as a child of Lena Kutschera and as an adult by Pauline Georgiev. After the loss of her parents in a conflict for a magical country, she grew up with her grandmother Johanna Benecke, who teaches her to communicate with nature. Her friend Fin (Máté Pócsi as a child, Lukas Schießl as an adult) finds security at Lif and her grandmother while suffering from his father's violent behavior.
After the death of her grandmother, Lif embarks on a journey to her roots, which is characterized by encounters with light and shadow. On her way, she meets Silas (Luis de Jesus Marques), who gives her hope and confronts her with old conflicts, including the return of a childhood friend. The musical addresses the beautiful and challenging sides of life.

The musical is listed on several dates: A total of three performances are planned at the weekend, which will continue in the coming week. The performances take place on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and on Sundays at 5 p.m. All tickets for the remaining ideas have already been awarded, but a box office is offered. Neuburg Donau informed that admission is free, but is asked for donations at the end of the performances. The income will go to the Association for Family Research Elisa e.V. in Neuburg and the Caritas Children's Village Marienstein near Eichstätt.
