Groß Ammensleben, Deutschland - The Romanesque Prize 2023 was solited today and recognizes outstanding initiatives to maintain the cultural heritage in Saxony-Anhalt. This year the award goes to the Löderbusch family, which is actively committed to the monastery church in Groß Ammensleben. The Romanesque award is not only connected to a gold medal, which was donated by the FDP, but also with a special price of 10,000 euros. This was awarded to the Magdeburg Kloster Art Museum of our dear women and appreciates the many years of work for the preservation and cultural use of the Romanesque building. Current measure for preservation include the renovation of the monastery church and the expansion of the north gallery.

The monastery has been part of the “Romanesque Romanesque” tourism route since 1995, which connects over 88 Romanesque buildings in 73 places. This route is an important attraction in Germany and attracts around 1.5 million visitors every year. This year's topic is also aimed at the "20 years of garden dreams in Saxony-Anhalt". The Romanesque award will be awarded for the 25th time this year. The Förderverein Klosterbauhütte Merseburg e.V. receives the gold medal for proud achievements for the awareness of the "Romanesque Street" and especially for its commitment to the Petrikloster in Merseburg, one of the oldest Romanesque buildings in the city. The project also made it possible to use the monastery as an event location and thus maintain the building fabric.

A total of three silver medals were also awarded. Reinhard Schmitt was awarded for his voluntary research on building and art historical topics, the photo club Magdeburg 07 e.V. for professional photos for the support of public relations and the association lived in Ballenstedt e.V. for the mediation of historical customs.

The award ceremony took place on September 5, 2020 in the Marienkirche of the Naumburg Cathedral. The Romanesque award remains an important symbol for the commitment of many people who are committed to maintaining and maintaining the cultural treasures of Saxony-Anhalt.
