Semeti Hills (Bukit)-beach cliff viewing point near Kuta Lombok

Semeti Hills, also known as Bukit Semeti, is a group of small rock hills at the southern end of the Semeti Beach. The hills are a great remote place that is perfect to escape the hectic atmosphere of Kuta Lombok.

We visited Semeti Hills and Semeti Beach after we had explored many epic beaches on the southern coast of Lombok. We ended the day by admiring the pyramid hills and watching the sunset above the ocean.

How do you get to the Semeti hills?

The best way to get to the Semeti Hills is a motorcycle in Kuta Lombok. The standard rate for the daily rent is approximately 50,000 rupiah per day.

If you do not have your own bike and consider a day trip, I would recommend that the day tour beach and Semeti Hills from Kuta Lombok.

Semeti Hills is about 45 minutes from the main street in Kuta Lombok. The street here is quite good until the junction opposite the Aliya Restaurant. Here you turn and drive down a bumpy, rocky dirt road until you reach Mawi Beach.

If you approach the coast, turn left instead of driving on to the Mawi Beach, and continue for a few minutes until you reach Pantai Semeti (Semeti Beach).

Near the beginning of the unpaved section of the street are required to pay the entry fee for the area. The fee of 10,000 Rupiah per scooter is really not bad and quite common for most beaches in the area.

What you expect in the Semeti hills (Bukit Semeti)

Semeti Beach has a relaxed atmosphere with white sand that borders a flat reef. Semeti Beach is not a popular surf spot, so if you are looking for it, I would suggest to go to Mawi instead.

After you have parked the scooter, you can go to the left side of the beach, where you can find a small hill. Once at the top, we have some epic views of the Semeti Beach and the famous Semeti Hills. It is possible to go down to the other side of this hill in order to take a closer look at the unique volcanic rock structures and natural pyramids. Semeti Hills Kliffsprung

This is really not for the faint of heart. Although it is not that high, we jumped from the rock platform in the middle of the bay at Semeti Hills. We had to match the jump perfectly to the breaks so as not to be smashed against the rocks from the big sets that would sweep in.

SEMETI Hills Cave and Sunset Viewpoint

The viewpoint here is a great place to capture the sunset. Although definitely not as popular as Merese Hills, I still thought that it was one of the best viewpoints that travelers are available in Kuta Lombok!

Right around the corner of the pyramid is a small cave. At low tide we went inside to explore it. The Semeti Hills cave is not the largest in Lombok, but still a bit cool.

He gave me a free papaya from his garden every day. Although it is somewhat away from the main street, the owner will sort them out with a motorcycle for 50,000 a day.
