Semeti Hills, also known as Bukit Semeti, is a group of small rocky hills at the southern end of Semeti Beach. The hills are a great secluded spot, perfect for escaping the hectic atmosphere of Kuta Lombok.
We visited Semeti Hills and Semeti Beach after exploring many epic beaches on the southern coast of Lombok. We ended the day admiring the pyramid hills and watching the sunset over the ocean.
How to get to Semeti Hills?
The best way to get to Semeti Hills is to rent a motorbike in Kuta Lombok. The standard daily rental rate is approximately 50,000 rupiah per day.
If you don't have your own bike and are considering a day trip, I would recommend taking the Nambung Beach and Semeti Hills Day Tour from Kuta Lombok.
Semeti Hills is about 45 minutes from the main road in Kuta Lombok. The road here is quite good until the junction opposite Aliya Restaurant. Here you turn and drive down a bumpy, rocky dirt road until you reach Mawi Beach.
As you approach the coast, instead of continuing to Mawi Beach, turn left and continue for a few minutes until you reach Pantai Semeti (Semeti Beach).
Near the start of the dirt road section you will be stopped to pay the entrance fee to the area. The fee of 10,000 rupiah per scooter is really not bad and is pretty standard for most beaches in the area.

What to Expect in Semeti Hills (Bukit Semeti).
Semeti Beach has a laid-back vibe with white sand bordering a shallow reef. Semeti Beach is not a popular surfing spot, so if that's what you're looking for, I'd suggest going to Mawi instead.
After parking the scooter you can go to the left side of the beach where you will find a small hill. Once at the top we have some epic views of Semeti Beach and the famous Semeti Hills. It is possible to walk down to the other side of this hill to take a closer look at the unique volcanic rock structures and natural pyramids.

Semeti Hills cliff jump
This one really isn't for the faint of heart. Although it's not that high, we jumped from the rock platform in the middle of the bay at Semeti Hills. We had to time the jump perfectly with the breaks to avoid being smashed into the rocks by the big sets that would sweep in.
Semeti Hills Cave and Sunset Viewpoint
The viewpoint here is a great place to catch the sunset. Although definitely not as popular as Merese Hills, I still thought it was one of the best viewpoints available to travelers in Kuta Lombok!
Just around the corner from the pyramid is a small cave. At low tide we went in to explore. The Semeti Hills cave is not the largest in Lombok, but still somewhat cool.
