České Budějovice relies on flight expansion: new destinations and more comfort from May!

On May 22, 2025, several reports published about the current developments at the airport in České Budějovice. Last year the airport was able to handle 55,000 passengers, which means significantly lower traffic compared to Linz Airport, which recorded 180,694 passengers in the same period. In order to increase the attractiveness of the airport, the summer flight offer in České Budějovice will be expanded in 2025.

From May 24, 2025, there will be regular flights to Antalya on the Black Sea. Heraklion, Rhodes and destinations in France are also being planned and will be announced this week. Monastir in Tunisia will also be added at the beginning of June 2025, significantly increasing the variety of travel options for passengers.

Optimizations at the airport

České Budějovice Airport is also investing in infrastructure. There are currently three check-in counters available to travelers, but two more will be added to improve passenger flow. The number of baggage conveyor belts will also be increased to ensure faster processing.

České Budějovice is positioning itself as an attractive alternative to larger airports by advertising short distances and free parking. However, despite these developments, Linz Airport is expected to handle more passengers than České Budějovice in 2023. This is due, among other things, to the new Ryanair connections to Bari and Alicante as well as the increase in the Frankfurt connection, which are increasing frequencies.

Interest in the new flight destinations and investments in infrastructure could help significantly increase passenger numbers at České Budějovice Airport in the coming years. The airport particularly appeals to travelers who value short arrival times and easy parking options.
