So, do I really need it?
I'm not here to sell you travel insurance. However, what I can do is help you understand whether you need it or not.
As the old saying goes, “If you can’t afford travel insurance, you can’t afford a trip.” When I lost all my belongings in Barcelona, I was lucky enough to have enough savings to cover me.
But what I didn't consider at the time was hospital costs or the possibility of a catastrophic traffic accident. Looking back, there was no way I could have afforded emergency surgery or paid for someone else's car or motorcycle.
As a full-time traveler, I have decided that travel insurance is one of the fixed costs that I cannot afford. For me it's a small annual bill that is negligible in terms of what I would lose if something went wrong.

At the end of the day, when you buy travel insurance, you are buying peace of mind.
When people ask me if they should get travel insurance, I always say YES. I have heard many disaster stories and experienced it myself. You don’t want to be out and about uninsured if something happens.
