Discover the slow food journey: experience culinary delights in the Harz in a new way!

On May 30, 2025, the Harzer Genuss Days begin with a special event called a “slow food journey”. The team around Carola Wahrhusen and guest chef Patrick Glaße are appearing in this series for the third time. These culinary circles promise to be an unforgettable experience that takes participants through the Harz forests, to Italy and back to the Harz foothills and to Clausthal-Zellerfeld. The focus is on regional and seasonal products, which are used in an exquisite menu.

The three-course menu that awaits guests consists of carefully composed dishes. The starter offers a “Terrine of Harz game, wild garlic, walnut and sourdough biscuits”. As the main course, participants can expect “braised veal with Isigny sauce, asparagus and pente”. The crowning finale is a dessert made from “strawberries in combination with brown bread and pistachio”. The event is accompanied by Catharina Schubert, who inspires with her fairy tale factory. The number of participants is limited to 20 people, creating an intimate atmosphere.

Culinary highlights and pricing

The culinary journey is also not cheap. The price of the menu is 79 euros, including food, aperitif and mineral water. A wine accompaniment is available for an additional 20 euros per person. Bookings are via the website www.harzer-gourmettage.de or via the Oberharz Tourist Information Office and participating partners. The event is supported by various partners, including DeHoGa Niedersachsen Kreisverband Harz and Bad Harzburger Mineralbrunnen GmbH.

Another highlight of the Harzer Genuss Days is the event in the Klosterkrug restaurant. Here guests can look forward to a 4-course gourmet menu created by chef Sven Sobek. The evening begins with a monastery tour, which offers exclusive insights into the monastery and the distillery.

Culinary specialties in the Klosterkrug

The dishes at Klosterkrug include, among other things, a resin cheese and apple tartare on pumpernickel with quince jelly as a first course. This is followed by a creamy celery foam soup with a crispy chip, followed by a tender braised leg of lamb on potato-turnip puree, broad beans and thyme-garlic jus as the main course. The finale is a panna cotta made from Altenauer malt beer with homemade quince ice cream.

The Harzer Genuss Days focus on the highest level of regional cuisine and thus offer both locals and visitors the opportunity to discover and enjoy the culinary treasures of this region. The organizer is GLC Glücksburg Consulting AG, which has already attracted attention with several successful events.

For gourmets and lovers of regional cuisine, the Harzer Genuss Days are an absolute must-see that promises culinary experiences at the highest level. Anyone interested should get tickets as soon as possible as the number of participants is limited.
