Switzerland Tourism (ST) has launched an innovative campaign to specifically promote the country's hotel industry. The campaign was launched under the title “Bees & Friends” on the occasion of World Bee Day, which is celebrated on May 20th. With this campaign, ST would like to humorously focus on the diversity and sustainability of Swiss hotels. The campaign is aimed primarily at environmentally conscious holidaymakers and emphasizes Switzerland's attractiveness as a travel destination for a broad target group. André Hefti, Chief Marketing Officer at ST, emphasizes that Switzerland has a lot to offer its guests.

As part of this creative initiative, a total of 5,800 small posters will be put up in various cities in Germany, including Hamburg, Potsdam, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. These posters encourage passers-by to discover the variety of pet-friendly accommodation in Switzerland. As a special attraction, those who discover the posters can take part in a competition where they have the chance to win one of 20 hotel nights in Switzerland. After the campaign, the posters should be collected and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner to underline the sustainability of the campaign.

Focus on pet-friendly mini-accommodations

Another exciting element of the campaign is the presentation of nine pet-friendly mini-shelters. These include not only insect hotels, but also bird houses and hedgehog shelters that promote the diversity of nature. The guerrilla marketing campaign is intended not only to highlight the Swiss hotel industry, but also to stimulate interest in sustainable vacation options. The target group chosen for this are holidaymakers who value environmentally friendly and varied travel options.

The campaign is promoted via social media channels and electronic advertising spaces, for example in Times Square in New York, and aims to reach a broad audience. Given the growing importance of sustainability and environmental awareness in the tourism sector, this initiative could have a groundbreaking significance for the future of the Swiss hotel industry.
