Switzerland tourism inspires with bees & friends campaign!

Schweiz, Land - Switzerland Tourismus (ST) has launched an innovative campaign to specifically promote the country's hotel industry. Under the title "Bees & Friends", the campaign was started on the occasion of the World Bee Day, which will be celebrated on May 20. With this campaign, ST wants to humorously put the diversity and sustainability of the Swiss hotels into focus. The campaign is aimed primarily at environmentally conscious holidaymakers and emphasizes the attractiveness of Switzerland as a travel destination for a broad target group. André Hefti, Chief Marketing Officer at ST, emphasizes that Switzerland has a lot to offer its guests.

As part of this creative initiative, a total of 5,800 small posters are set up in various cities in Germany, including Hamburg, Potsdam, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. These posters encourage passers -by to discover the variety of animal -friendly accommodations in Switzerland. As a special attraction, the discoverers of the posters can take part in a competition in which they gain the chance of one of 20 hotel stays in Switzerland. After the campaign, the posters are to be collected and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner in order to underline the sustainability of the campaign.

Another exciting element of the campaign is the presentation of nine animal-friendly mini accommodation. These include not only insect hotels, but also bird feeders and hedgehog accommodation that promote the diversity of nature. The guerrilla marketing campaign should not only emphasize the Swiss hotel industry, but also arouse interest in sustainable holiday opportunities. The target group chosen for this are holidaymakers who value environmentally friendly and varied travel options.

The campaign is advertised via social media channels and electronic advertising space, for example at Times Square in New York, and pursues the goal of reaching a wide audience. In view of the growing importance of sustainability and environmental awareness in the tourism sector, this initiative could have a directional importance for the future of the Swiss hotel industry.
