Baltic Sea camping: prices are rising – this is how much a vacation will cost in 2025!

The Baltic Sea remains a highly sought-after destination for German holidaymakers, especially with the impending start of the summer holidays, which is due at the end of June in some federal states and on July 14th in North Rhine-Westphalia. But the costs for a camping holiday in this region are rising. According to an analysis by the camping portal Pincamp Overnight stay prices for a family of three in Europe have increased by around 6 percent compared to the previous year and are now an average of 52 euros per night.

However, in Germany the average price is only around 40 euros, which continues to make it one of the cheaper countries in Europe. Only Sweden follows with a price of around 43 euros, while France is far more expensive at 50 euros and Italy and Croatia (66 and 68 euros).

Price development on the Baltic Sea coast

Prices on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast have experienced a significant increase from 47 euros to 52 euros per night. On Usedom the costs have also increased – from 44 euros to 50 euros. Only on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula was there a minimal increase from 43 to 44 euros. On the other hand, the reduced prices in other regions should be highlighted positively: the costs on Rügen are 41 euros per night and on the Mecklenburg Lake District they are 40 euros.

The cheapest camping prices in Germany can be found in Hesse (37 euros) and Thuringia (33 euros). North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein are around 38 euros. Saxony-Anhalt is also in a moderate range at 39 euros, while Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland are at 40 euros. Bavaria has a price of 42 euros, but this is higher than most other federal states.

Attractive campsites on the Baltic Sea

Another recommended place is the Ostseecamping family Heide in Waabs, which was awarded as an ADAC Superplatz. Here, guests can enjoy a wellness area, an indoor pool and a beach club with prices starting at 30 euros per night.

For those who want to camp on the Plön Lake District, the Augstfelde camping park an idyllic stay with a 600 meter long sandy beach and extensive leisure activities from 27 euros per night.

This development clearly shows that the price wheel turning in the camping sector is not just a temporary phenomenon, but reflects complex adjustments to the changing holiday habits of Germans. Interested clients should keep an eye on price developments and possibly make their bookings early.
