State Honorary Prize for Bavarian Agriculture: Exemplary training!
On May 27, 2025, the state honor prices for exemplary training in agriculture were awarded in Munich. On a solemn event in the All Saints' Court Church of the Residence, Hubert Bittlmayer, head of office on behalf of Minister of Agriculture Michaela Kaniber, presented the awards to ten outstanding Bavarian farms. The State Honor Award, which will be awarded for the fifth time this year, recognizes the special commitment of these companies in the training of young people in agriculture.
The price is under the motto "promote, demand, advance" and aims to support future generations of farmers in their training. Overall, over 1,300 young people in Bavaria benefit from this training, whereby a third of the trainees do not come from agricultural families. This indicates a change in the social background of the trainees who have taken place in recent years.
outstanding achievements in training
In her speech,Minister Kaniber emphasized the high standards that the award winners set in training. The promotion of the trainees plays a central role in this because they are prepared to conduct an agricultural company independently. The award ceremony is therefore not only recognition, but also an orientation aid for all those who are looking for training in agriculture. This transfer of specialist knowledge, economic thinking as well as social responsibility and respect for nature are essential components of training.
Various criteria were taken into account when selecting the winners: commitment of the operating manager, individual support and the regular training of trainers and trainees. In addition, additional offers for promoting trainees should also be important. The next application round for the State Honor Award starts on November 1, so that interested companies can now prepare. The Staensehrreis is a community initiative of the State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry, the Association of Agricultural Champions and trainers in Bavaria and the Association for Agricultural Training in Bavaria. The award should serve as an incentive to inspire young people for agriculture in the future.
Although the Corona pandemic has challenges, especially when carrying out trial internships and advertising at training fairs, the aim of the industry remains clear: the promotion of farmers of tomorrow in order to secure their future chances and to make the farmer's profession attractive.
