Spring Meeting 2025: PVOE moves to Marmaris! That's how it was!

On May 14, 2025, the PVOE Spring Meeting was held in the picturesque city of Marmaris, Türkiye. The event offered an excellent opportunity for members to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments within the association. The meeting was organized with the aim of strengthening the community and promoting cooperation.

The meeting not only provided valuable information about the goals of the PVOE, but also about cultural exchange. The participants were able to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings and find out about the regional peculiarities. The connection to the region was also in the foreground, which was important to both the members and the organizers. Information about the event is on MyDistrict to find.

Regional binding and user-generated content

Reader reporters play an important role in the context of regional reporting. According to a report by courier User-generated content strengthens the bond between regional media and readers. This connection aims to promote roots in the regions and tell local stories.

The editors filter out the best content from the contributions of the so-called “Regionauts” in order to present them in print and online formats. Participatory reporting thus enables sublocal reporting that complements classic editorial approaches. This deep localization is a vigilant goal that allows media outlets to function as local purveyors and marketplaces for information.

Since around 2010, Michael Tillian and Werner Herics have been reflecting on how the involvement of reader-reporters has changed the way information is collected and disseminated. This unique approximation of journalism and community further consolidates the exchange at the regional level.
