Netzschkau, Deutschland - The Göltzschtal Bridge, known as the largest brick bridge in the world, is currently attracting attention in Paris. As part of the exhibition "Saxony in Paris", an impressive photo of the bridge is part of the Saxony show in the shopping arcade Carrousel du Louvre. This exhibition shows a total of 22 large -format photographs and runs until June 12, 2025. The aim is to advertise tourism in the region and to raise awareness of this architectural masterpiece. Freie Presse reports that the bridge in Paris is particularly the symbol of the region.
The Göltzschtal Bridge is picturesquely located in the Vogtländian landscape near Netzschkau and measures a proud 574 meters in length. She spans the valley of the Göltzsch and impresses with a total of 98 arches and four floors. This impressive construction was built between 1846 and 1851 to secure the Leipzig-Nuremberg rail connection. Prof. Andreas Schubert from Wernesgrün was the designer of this masterpiece. The bridge consists of more than 26 million red bricks and 23,000 tree trunks, which served as scaffolding, and reaches a height of 78 meters. Every year, around 80,000 visitors make a pilgrimage to the bridge to admire their impressive architecture. Outdooractive also offers extensive information about hiking and bike paths in the area.

On the occasion of the exhibition and the associated doctorate, the Göltzschtalbrücke support association launched a new website. This acts as a provisional and includes a competition to attract other visitors. The new platform aims to increase the awareness of the bridge and the attractiveness of the Vogtland.
The combination of historical importance and tourist stimulus makes the Göltzschtal Bridge an important point in the region. In addition to enjoying the impressive architecture, visitors can also enjoy fantastic views on a viewing platform at the parking lot of the bridge. The tourism association "Northern Vogtland" e. V. also offers informative lectures on bridge construction that deepen the understanding of this impressive building.
Participation in the exhibition and the doctoral measures in Paris should help promote the Göltzschtalbrücke as a cultural heritage and to make the tourist attraction of the Vogtland known beyond Germany.
