Holland America Line announces an exciting journey: From December 2026, the cruise ship Nieuw Statendam will sail from Rotterdam to Fort Lauderdale. This 15-night cruise allows passengers to discover the beauty of the Caribbean and offers numerous onboard amenities.
Current prices for this cruise start at €799 per person for an inside cabin. Outside cabins are available from €899 and balcony cabins from €1,049 per person. If you want to travel alone, you can book an inside cabin from €1,389. The travel price includes full board in the main and buffet restaurant, participation in on-board events and use of most of the ship's facilities. Guests can also expect filtered drinking water, tea, coffee, lemonade, iced tea and milk free of charge. Specialty dining and beverage packages can be booked for special occasions at an additional cost.
Cruise route and entry requirements
The cruise departs from Rotterdam on December 5, 2026. From there, the ship will call at various ports including Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Cherbourg, Portsmouth and Falmouth before arriving in Fort Lauderdale on December 20th. To enter the USA, passengers need either an ESTA or a visa, which incurs additional costs.
It is also important to be clear about arrival and departure. Flight bookings for December 2026 are currently not possible, but a return flight from Fort Lauderdale to Germany is expected to cost around €350, plus checked baggage fees.
The ship Nieuw Statendam
The Nieuw Statendam is the second ship of the Pinnacle Class and was put into service in 2018. With a length of 300 meters and a width of 35 meters, she offers space for up to 2,150 passengers on 12 passenger decks. The maximum speed is 22 knots, but the ship normally travels at around 18 knots.
The ship has a total of 11 dining options, four of which are included in the price of the trip. The language on board is English and all cabins are modernly equipped. These include flat-screen TVs with interactive programming, mini-fridges, and the ability to open rooms with balconies upon request. Wi-Fi service is also available, although signal strength may vary depending on cabin location.
For an all-round service, guests have access to numerous activities and entertainment options, which are made accessible via the interactive media console in the cabins. This allows passengers to enjoy on-demand movies and access information about onboard dining and activities.
