Culture on the beach: SEEBADKULTUR.LESUNG starts in Travemünde!

The open-air reading lounge SEEBADKULTUR.LESUNG awaits literature enthusiasts in Travemünde from June 5th to August 28th, 2025. The event takes place in the Godewindpark every Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the reading lounge will be moved to the A-ROSA Resort Travemünde. The event is organized by Lübeck and Travemünde Marketing GmbH in cooperation with the Hugendubel bookstore and the A-ROSA Resort Travemünde. A book table with selected works by Hugendubel is also available.

The reading lounge offers a varied program with renowned authors. The opening reading on June 5th will be given by author Lena Johannson and will present her book “Coco and the Fashion Revolution”. The first date will be followed on June 12 by Alexa Linell with the thriller “Box – Beware of this AI”, in which the lawyer Veda is looking for the mysterious truth about the death of her ex-boyfriend. This exciting mix of crime and thriller guarantees entertaining evenings for visitors.

Diverse literature for every taste

On June 19th, author Jesper Lund will present his crime novel “Schwedenglut”, which takes place in the context of a fire and a missing person. Another highlight follows on June 26th with Tanja Wahle, who addresses the complex relationships between victims and perpetrators in her work “Kaleidoscope”. On July 3rd, the historical new adult novel “Heygate 1: My Dearest Lovers” by Anna Husen, which is set in England in 1860, awaits participants.

July continues with Franziska Henze's collection “Tatort Nord”, which deals with exciting criminal cases between Hamburg and the coast. On July 17, Lisa Quentin will provide insights into the life of Margarete, who vacillates between studying, marriage and motherhood. Angela Detmers' "A Raspberry-Green Summer" will offer an entertaining portrait of the life of a gardener on July 24th.

Another literary highlight awaits listeners on July 31st with Eva Almstädt, whose “Baltic Sea Twilight” promises exciting twists and turns with an archaeological discovery. On August 7th, Judith Gridl will captivate her readers with the thriller “The Deepest Point”, followed by Klaus Spieldenner, who will provide adventure and excitement with “Das ist mein Ernst” on August 14th.

The conclusion of this year's series will be on August 21st with Sabine Weiss's "The Lighthouses of the Stevensons", a look into the youth of the famous writer Robert Louis Stevenson. On August 28th, Petra Tessendorf will finally present her crime novel “Küstendämmerung”, which revolves around mysterious deaths on the Baltic Sea coast.
