The MSC Fantasia, a popular cruise ship owned by the Swiss shipping company MSC Cruises, is currently operating in the Mediterranean and is conducting the nine-day Eastern Mediterranean cruise. This journey began on May 20, 2025 in Trieste and includes several exciting stops. Unfortunately, the planned call from Kerkyra (Corfu) on May 23, 2025 had to be canceled.
Passengers were informed of this unexpected decision by cabin letter. The reason for the cancellation were technical problems on board, which resulted in a reduced sailing speed. Therefore, the planned route from Istanbul to Corfu could not be implemented in the planned time. Instead, May 23 was converted into an additional sea day, meaning guests were unable to disembark as planned.

The MSC Fantasia is expected to arrive in Bari, Italy on May 24, 2025. Engineers are already working to resolve the technical difficulties. However, it is currently unclear whether the problems can be resolved by the following trips or whether route changes may be necessary.
The original itinerary of the MSC Fantasia included the following stops: Trieste - day at sea - Katakolon - Piraeus - Kusadasi - Istanbul - day at sea - Corfu - Bari - Trieste. After the call in Corfu was canceled, the itinerary was adjusted accordingly: Trieste - day at sea - Katakolon - Piraeus - Kusadasi - Istanbul - day at sea - day at sea - Bari - Trieste.
