Upper Austria celebrates 26 ambassadors of hospitality in tourism!
On June 23, 2025, a total of 26 personalities from the Vitalwelt - Innviertel - Entdeckerviertel - Hausruckwald region were honored at the Lentos Art Museum Linz for their remarkable commitment to the tourism and leisure industry. This honor aims to highlight the achievements of actors who have an impact far beyond their own companies and act as role models for the industry. Among those honored were Hans Schwarzmayr, curator of the Franz Xaver Gruber Memorial House in Hochburg-Ach, and Tieping Ni, owner of the Asia House restaurant in Bad Schallerbach.
The awards were presented by Markus Achleitner, the State Councilor for Economics and Tourism, and Robert Seeber, Chairman of the Strategy Board of Upper Austria Tourism. Achleitner emphasized the central role of innovative spirit and hospitality in the sustainable success of tourism in Upper Austria. He emphasized that fresh ideas and the targeted implementation of such concepts are essential for strong tourism. “The distinguished personalities are not only active in their own companies, but also drive the entire industry forward,” says Achleitner.
The honorees and their commitment
The distinguished personalities come from various areas of the tourism industry, including hoteliers, restaurateurs, investors, idea generators and network partners. Their common goal is to provide valuable impetus for the tourism industry. Other honorees include Norbert Trawöger, director of the KulturEXPO “Anton Bruckner 2024” and artistic director of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, as well as Georg Steiner, former managing director of the Linz Tourism Association.
Robert Seeber praised the honorees' passion for the guests' needs. “This award is intended to celebrate not only the personalities, but also the high quality and creativity that characterize Upper Austrian tourism,” he explained. Andreas Winkelhofer, Managing Director of Upper Austria Tourism, added that cross-industry cooperation is crucial in the tourism industry. He also emphasized the role of entrepreneurs, thought leaders, cultural workers and digitalization pioneers in making Upper Austria attractive as a holiday destination.
This honor not only recognizes the work of the distinguished personalities, but also sends a strong signal for the importance of hospitality and innovation in the tourism sector. Upper Austria shows that through shared commitment and creative ideas, thriving tourism is possible. The honor took place in one of the country's cultural centers, the Lentos Art Museum, which further underlines the importance of this event.
