Politician Ferrat invites you: naturist swingers holiday to Cap d'Agde!
Mannheim city councilor Julien Ferrat from Die Mannheimer attracted attention in an unusual appearance in the official gazette. He presented himself almost naked on the beach and urged citizens to take part in an “unforgettable nudist swingers trip” to Cap d’Agde in southern France. His genitals are modestly covered by a sign with the inscription “The people of Mannheim in the local council”. In the article entitled “Political educational trip to Cap d’Agde,” Ferrat describes the naturist village as a “place without inhibitions” known for nudists and swingers. The trip is planned for August, with participants having to cover the travel costs themselves. Interested citizens can contact Ferrat by email by May 31st, who will also use the opportunity to promise an interesting political program.
Reactions to Ferrat's unconventional invitation are divided. The CDU has described the action as “brain-burnt” and expresses concerns about possible negative effects on the local council's image and the perception of politics. Ferrat counters the criticism with an ironic undertone and emphasizes the importance of freedom of expression. “No one is forced to take part,” he explains, while at the same time promoting open discussions about alternative political education formats. He is also planning talks with the tourism office, representatives of the city administration and hoteliers in Cap d’Agde to find out what Mannheim can learn from this city.
Planning the trip and opposition concerns
Before the educational trip, a training camp with outdoor sex is planned on Friesenheim Island. Ferrat, who is known for having already drawn attention to nudity - for example with a nude photo in the official gazette and a "nude consultation" - sees his mobilization as an alternative to classic political education trips. He points to the state funding of the naturist village since the 1970s as an example of successful urban development.
Despite the provocative approach, Ferrat finds a positive response from the population. The city of Mannheim has not yet commented on Ferrat's contribution and only points to the party-political neutrality of the official gazette. The decision to address the different perceptions of urban development and naturist culture in an educational trip met with a mixed response, while the discussion about the role of politics in society continues.
It remains to be seen how the situation will develop by the registration deadline on May 31, 2025. Ferrat is optimistic and cordially invites anyone interested to join him on his unconventional journey.
