Husum Harbor Days 2025: A maritime festival for the senses delights everyone!

From August 6th to 10th, 2025, Husum and its guests celebrated the Husum Harbor Days, the largest maritime festival on the Schleswig-Holstein North Sea coast. The event, which took place in a lively maritime atmosphere, featured an extensive program that included not only live music, but also crafts, sports challenges and a street food festival. Organized by various clubs, associations and institutions in the region, the entire event was coordinated by Messe Husum & Congress.

After the positive feedback on the event, project manager Isabel Boe expressed satisfaction with the variety of offers and the high number of participants. According to the information from NDR Schleswig-Holstein Around 150 showmen and women presented their products and services at the harbor. Visitors from Husum, Schleswig-Holstein and the entire Federal Republic flocked to experience the various attractions.

Diverse program

A colorful stage program provided entertainment, while sporting activities such as stand up paddling (SUP) and the traditional tug of war across the harbor basin thrilled the spectators. The CJ Schmidt Hafentagelauf also took place on August 9th, which included various categories, including a main run over 10 kilometers and child-friendly relay races. The sale of tickets for the popular rubber duck race in the harbor, organized by the “Round Table 121 Husum” club, also attracted many guests.

The event also included an extensive range of handicrafts and attractive offers from over 200 program items, which were coordinated by Isabel Boe and her team. These included live concerts, walking acts and street artists, which offered visitors a unique experience. New this year was, among other things, a children's disco with dance animation and a speed ride on the Kleikuhle.

Transport connections and environmental protection

To make access easier for visitors, the HusumBus lines offered a free service during the Hafentage weekend, including at night. This initiative not only promoted travel, but also supported environmentally friendly means of transportation.

Husum, known as the cultural center of North Frisia, offered numerous additional attractions in addition to the harbor days. The castle garden bloomed with millions of crocuses and the Crocus Blossom Festival also attracted numerous visitors. The Husum Harbor Days were not only a highlight in the event calendar, but also contributed to the cultural identity of the region.

Overall, the organizers have a consistently positive assessment and are looking forward to future festivals that could generate similar enthusiasm and response. The Husum Harbor Days 2025 have impressively shown how firmly rooted tradition, art and modern fun are in northern German culture.
