Large opening: New water and experience world in the IGA-Park Rostock!
On May 19, 2025, a new highlight will be opened in Rostock to enrich the region on the Baltic Sea: the Supieria water and experience world in the IGA Park. This innovative facility not only attracts visitors, but also caused a sensation due to its concept at the 23rd tourism breakfast of Rostock Marketing. The potential of the new location was presented here, which is considered a central part of the city's tourist development.
On Friday, the Supieria restaurant "Brise" celebrated its "pre-pre-pre-opening", and the operators, Hans Jensen and Lars Pastoor from Never Stop Playing GmbH, gave an outlook on the upcoming offers of the world of experience. These should increase Rostock's attractiveness as a travel destination and encourage visitors to come back.
extension of the pier and new attractions
The Supieria water world is now expanding to be a pier that was previously renovated by MuseumSpark GmbH. This innovation not only brings with it a wave slide and two action slides, but also a restaurant, a kiosk as well as training facilities for water skiing and aquapark attractions, including water center castles and wakefoil training. The offers are aimed at a wide audience and should also attract athletes from outside, especially from Berlin, Hamburg and the Ruhr area.
The ideas for creating this experience world come from a workshop for the 2030+ tourism concept, which took place in 2018. The idea was implemented with a four-year planning and construction period, in which challenges, such as increased construction costs and an official chaos, had to be mastered.
sustainability in focus
Another focus is on sustainability. As part of this development, a total of 32 companies, including the water park and the Supieria team, have undertaken to reduce their ecological footprint. This was recognized as part of the Tourcert program for sustainable tourist development. The new sustainability manager Mila Zarkh, who has been in office since May 1, will also ensure that sustainable practices are lived in all areas of the company.
tourism director Matthias Fromm praises the new worlds of experience as important factors for tourism in Rostock. He emphasizes that tourism in Rostock is one of the largest economic sectors and at the same time must be designed in an environmentally friendly manner. Numerous partners of the city have already received the "sustainable travel destination" certificate and thus contribute to the positive development of the region.
The official opening of the "Brise" restaurant is planned for May 25th, followed by the opening of the Aqua Park in June, where visitors can then try the new slides. With these developments, Rostock wants to attract not only the local population, but also tourists who are looking for relaxation and active leisure activities.
