Kilwun and cities of waterfalls: hidden waterfalls near Benang Stokel - Lombok

The Kilwun waterfall and the Sesere waterfall are two secret waterfalls, the discovery of which requires a little local know-how. These are "secret" waterfalls, since both cases are somewhat away from the main path in the popular geopark for the waterfalls Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu in North Lombok.

So you will find the Kilwun waterfall and the Sesere waterfall

If you do not have a local guide and rely on the cards and plates, it will be difficult to find the Kilwun waterfall and the Sesere waterfall. While both are marked on the overhead card, there is no signs that indicate the right way.

Do you want to know how to achieve these cases? Geopark greeting guide

The best directions you will find is to take the path from the Benang Stokel waterfall to Benang Kelambu, past the banana plantations. After you have passed some food and tourist stands, after about three quarters of the way you can see a small, not obvious path that leads to the left. Remember that there are two of these non -signed paths, the first you see is not the right path. Go past this and go a little further until you see the next one after a little descent.

The path quickly becomes steep and leads down to the waterfalls of Kilwun and Sesere. If you walk through banana fields on a flat, windy path, you have taken the wrong way.

The way down is steep and sandy. It is definitely not structured as the other main waterfalls here. I could imagine that it would not be too difficult to slide down, so have a stuck.

After the descent you can reach a small flowing stream. Here you can hear the Kilwun waterfall around the corner. You can either descend into the valley below, where you can find the Sesere waterfall. Or if you follow the stream bend to the right, you will reach the Kilwun waterfall.

I told you that they are secret. If you are not sure to find it yourself, I would recommend getting a local guide. Alternatively, you can book this waterfall Day Tour, which includes a trip to these waterfalls including transport.

Kilwun waterfall

Of all five waterfalls in this area, the Kilwun waterfall is my personal favorite. It is a small 11-meter waterfall in a lush, narrow gorge. The water plunges hard into a knee-high pool that gently falls down the mountain and ends on the cities of water.

We spent a good 30 minutes to admire this waterfall and take a few photos of the warm light rays that made their way through the dense tree line.

Sesere waterfall

As already mentioned, if you go down the secret, steep path, you will reach the Sesere waterfall after about 5 minutes.

Sesere is another small, thinner waterfall. However, it is a good place to cool off because it has a pool that is deep enough to lie in it. However, it is not deep enough to jump or really swim. Since the current is not as strong as the others, you can also stand under the rock and treat yourself to a natural waterfall massage.
