Lufthansa launches free chat service on intercontinental flights!
From now on, Lufthansa passengers can have free access to chat services on all intercontinental flights. With this new initiative, realized in collaboration with Mastercard, the airline responds to the growing need for digital accessibility during flights. The service is available for all travel classes and allows unlimited texting and sending photos via popular messenger apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage and Telegram.
Access is easy via the FlyNet portal. All passengers need is a “Miles & More” service card number or a registered email address that is linked to the Lufthansa Travel ID. Those interested can even register during the flight. After logging into the FlyNet portal, access to the chat is activated immediately, without hidden fees or technical hurdles. Passenger feedback confirms that the new service is easy and stable to use.
Expanded digital offerings
With this new service, Lufthansa is pursuing a consistent digital strategy that is part of a growing digital ecosystem. The free chat service is not only perceived as a practical feature, but also as an important comfort factor on long flights. This measure could also be extended to other Lufthansa Group airlines such as SWISS, Austrian Airlines or Eurowings Discover in the future.
By introducing free access to chat services, Lufthansa wants to offer its passengers additional added value and significantly increase travel comfort. The cooperation with Mastercard plays a crucial role in enabling this innovative service and presenting passengers with a new type of experience on board.
