Drum adventure in Meckenheim: daycare children delight with a concert!
October 9, 2025 will be an unforgettable experience for the children at the Steinbüchel municipal daycare center in Meckenheim. Under the motto “On the drum, get set, go!” A project day was organized in collaboration with the “Argandona Drum World”. Together the children experienced an exciting drumming adventure trip that was both fun and educational.
On the morning of the project day, the children were able to not only drum, but also sing and dance under the guidance of drum teacher Alberto. They were accompanied by “tromelinho”, a small drum, which offered an additional element of interactivity for the children. The various activities promoted the children's social skills, movement coordination, concentration, self-esteem and creativity, in keeping with the educational concept presented by the Argandona Drum World.
Versatile programming
The interactive children's program aims to introduce children to drum rhythms and greetings in different languages and take them across different continents. These methods help to experience integration and inclusion in a playful way. The highlight of the day was the performance in the auditorium of the Meckenheim-Merl community elementary school in the afternoon.
Here the daycare children presented their drum concert, supported by Alberto and the teachers. The Kita Steinbüchel support association covered the costs of the project day and also ensured physical well-being during the performance, which gave the children and parents an all-round successful experience.
Experiences from the project week
This event is part of a larger initiative by the “Argandona Drum World”, which offers interactive drumming adventures for schools and kindergartens. The programs are designed for groups of different sizes, whether 30, 300 or even 1000 children. A project week took place in April 2025, during which the students practiced various drum rhythms with two coaches and rehearsed the piece “The Colors of this World”. Costumes and props were made especially for this day of the performance, which enabled the children to play roles such as bees, octopus, Oriental cats and many other colorful characters.
The support association not only organized the performances, but also ensured that the children and their families were provided with food. The project week was described by everyone involved as unforgettable and reinforced the positive experiences that can arise through creative musical projects.
